Origin

Paul and I met the summer before seventh grade. He was the First Baptist preachers son, the second of four. He got an amplifier and electric guitar the following Christmas and I got a drum set the following March for my birthday. We started making up songs that we could play because we didn’t know how to play anything else. Eventually we could play a few popular songs and got a gig or two playing at parties and school functions. We became involved in so many activities that we eventually did not have time to expand our talents. The end of our Junior year in high school, Paul’s dad took another position as pastor several hundred miles away. We saw each other very seldom for a while. We both got married fairly early in our adult lives and had some not so pleasant experiences. We both ended up divorcing our first wives. Later, Paul came back to our home town and we got started playing together again. We were on and off through the years, but never seemed to find the time or the money to put our song writing to good use. Through the years, he wrote a few and I wrote a few and when we would get together, our chemistry was still there and the songs never left us. We’ve always dreamed of finishing what we started even though fifty years passed by. I am retired now and Paul has lost most of his hearing but we continue to write and add new material. You can see what we were influenced by when you listen to our songs. We are doing this for ourselves but if you hear these songs, I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Thanks and God bless,

Perk & Willie
